Purpose of the role:

The basic work of a person working as a networking monitoring specialist is to ensure that the company’s network is up and running and that any issues that transpire, are handled in a proper manner. An individual working at this position performs a range of network monitoring, analysis, reporting, and performance tuning activities.

Role & Responsibilities:

The functions included in this job are as follows, but not limited to:

• Oversee, monitor, and analyze network routes and link data traffic and congestion appropriately.
• Create, develop, and submit network quality and performance reports, such as periodical ones, and dashboard events.
• Ascertain that problems pertaining to network quality, service degradation, and capacity shortage are resolved in a prioritized manner.
• Create, develop, and implement core strategies to test and evaluate network performance issues and problems, including utilization, availability, throughput, and latency.
• Select appropriate performance and quality management tools, and ensure that they are used in a proficient and efficient manner.
• Develop and maintain a series of network diagrams to effectively illustrate network topologies, firewalls, dedicated lines, and VPNs.
• Augment existing standard operating procedures, aiming at handling network related issues in a profound manner.
• Ensure that network failure are reduced, and downtime is minimized, by revising existing monitoring systems.
• Provide staff members with presentations and overviews about new and emerging technologies, that may be implemented to improve existing network systems.

Required Technical / Functional Competency:

Academic Background:

• BSC Degree or equivalent in computer sciences.

Technical Skills:

• Developing technical capabilities across diverse and dynamic hardware, software, and technologies.
• Communication and interpersonal abilities, the capability to prioritizing work, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the capacity to work in an independent manner, as well as in a group.
